Fortune Realty starts strong in Youth Games tourney

The Fortune Realty 16U team after their game against the St. John's Knights at the 2018 Youth Games ,held at the St. John's gym. Fortune Realty won the match 50-29.

The Fortune Realty team got things going early on the first day of competition in the 16U division of the 2018 Youth Games Basketball Tournament, winning their first two matches.

The Fortune Realty team beat the Titans 54-28 and topped the St. John’s Knights 50-29 at the St. John’s gym.

The visiting Colegio San Agustin Golden Eagles of the Philippines beat the Knights 56-34. The Knights played consistent throughout, but the Golden Eagles pulled away with a 17-9 run in the fourth quarter.

12U Division

The De La Salle Zobel Archers of the Philippines ran over the St. Anthony Raiders 61-20 in the 12U division held at the Tiyan High School gymnasium.

Daryl Valdevilla scored 18 points for the Archers, while Yoshi Sayama finished with seven points for the Raiders.

The Raiders bounced back in their second game, with a 30-27 victory over the St. John’s Knights, behind 15 points by Sayama.

14U Division

De La Salle Zobel outplayed the Raiders 37-11 at the Tiyan gym. The Archers blanked the Raiders in the second and third quarters. Shadrach Chang scored 16 for DLSZ, while Alex Slomka finished with six points for the Raiders. 

The Knights took a 31-20 win against the Raiders.

Playoffs

All the teams will make the single-elimination playoffs, which begin Thursday.  The 12U and 14U division games will be played at Tiyan gym, while the 16U division will start their playoffs at the St. John’s gym.  Awards ceremonies will follow the final game of the day.
